Edouard Chapallaz is born in Yverdon (CH) in 1921. From 1936-1939 he studied at the École Suisse de Céramique in Chavannes-Renens. From 1953 on he runs his own Studio in Embrach, than in Genève and since 1958 in Duillier-sur-Nyon. Edouard Chapallaz passed away February 2016.

In the mid 1940s, Edouard Chapallaz (1921-2016) was fascinated with Chinese ceramics from the Song Dynasty. These inspired him to recreate the perfection of their high temperature glazes in his own work.
