Tilepainting depicting the Grote Zeilroede in Makkum

Tilepainting depicting a skutsje (freight sailing boat ) in the Grote Zeilroede in front of the Gleibakkerij of Royal Tichelaar in Makkum. In the back the tower of The Waag is visible; 4 x 5 tiles in original oak frame, Tegel- en Plateelbakkerij van de Fa. Gebroeders Tichelaar, Makkum, painter is Jan Romke Steensma (Purmerend 1887-Sneek 1967), about 1920. This tilepicture is mounted on a MDF panel and replaced in its original frame. Some tiles have been restored in the restoration department of Royal Tichelaar.
