Prestige Collection - 'Holland', Utrecht, tile panel with stilized water lilies

The Fayence- en Tegelfabriek "Holland" in Utrecht existed from 1893 to 1920. The factory was established by Jan Willem Mijnlieff. At the 'Holland' vases, clockpieces, decorative plates, etc. were made.  The objects were mostly more complicated than those produced say, by Rozenburg in The Hague. After 1906 only tiles and panelling were produced. Here we offer a relatively rare frieze consisting of two rows of seven tiles. The tableau has a likewise painted surround and the image consists of large stylized water-lilies, viewed from the side and from above. The picture is in the original oak frame, but the tiles have been professionally fixed onto 'aerolam' by the Nederlands Tegelmuseum in Otterlo. The tiles measure 15,2 cm x 15,2 cm each. The picture is in mint condition. The factory supplied one of the tiles in a slightly lighter colour. These tiles were never fitted into a wall.
