Uwe Lerch was born in Büdelsdorf near Rendsburg in 1942. He visited the Muthesius - Art Academy in Kiel (ceramic with John Gebhardt, Graphic art with Hermann Bentele) between 1961 and 1966. In 1967-68, he opens his own ceramic workshop in Borgstedt. Between 1968 and 1970, he has a professorship in ceramics at the Muthesius - work art school in Kiel. Between 1970 and 1975, Uwe is working as an art teacher. Since 1971, he has a joint workshop with his wife Inke Lerch in Bünsdorf. Between 1975 and 1982, he is also Designer in a ceramic industry company. Special exhibition at the GALERIE THEIS in May 2006 (with Inke Lerch).
Awards: in 1972 1st prize the Frechen Culture Foundation in 1973, 2nd Prize in the Richard Bampi competition, Hannover, 1996 Justus Brinckmann Prize, Hamburg (together with Inke Lerch).
