Johannes Gebhardt - Knospengefäss

Johannes Gebhardt is a ceramic sculptor. The porcelain sculpted 'Knospengefäss' which we are offering here was inspired by China cabbage. Exterior stone colour, interior roza. This beautiful piece was bought by the first owner in Kösters Kunstkammer in Mönchen Gladbach (DE).

Johannes Gebhardt is born in 1930 in Prenzlau, Germany. 1952-1956 Education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. 1968 Silver medal at the international ceramics exhibition in Istanbul. 1970-1978 Lecture at the Fine Arts section of the University of Arts Design in Kiel. 1972 Member of the International Academy of ceramics, Geneva. 1973 First prize at German ceramics 73. 1975 Special award at German ceramics 75.  1978 Professor at University of Art and Design in Kiel. 1984 Cultural award of the City of Kiel. 1989-1995 Member of advisory committee, fine arts and crafts of the Ministry of Science , Research and Culture, Schleswig-Holstein. 1992 Special Judge Award at the third intermational ceramics competition in Mino, Japan. 1994 Retired from the University.
