Paul Badié is born in Phonm Penh (Cambodia) in 1945. Since 1955 he is living in France where he had first contact with pottery-making at the age of thirteen. Between 1959 and 1962 he is trained as a ceramicist at the Ëcole de Céramique de Castelnaudary in Aude. Between 1962 and 1973 he is employed at several pottery workshops and ceramics factories in France. Between 1973 and 1985 he runs his own studio in Tourrettes-sur-Loup, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. In 1985 Paul moves to the US and abandoned ceramics for painting. Between 1987 and 1996 Paul has his own painting studio in Florida. In 1996 he returned to Cambodia where he development aidprograms and where he founded schools in rural areas. In 2005 he returned to the department of Lot and Garonne in France (text Olaf Thormann).

Work of the artist: 

Porcelain vessels, perfectly thrown, often spherical forms and bowls with classical East Asian glazes and new technical developments in glazes fired in a reducing atmosphere, occasionaly also glaze painting in a calligraphic, sign-like style; also sculpture in porcelain, busts and abstract blocks; later only painting and photography (text Olaf Thormann).
