Star/cross Qajar relief tile

Typical Iran / Persia Qajar wall relief tile, depicting in the centre an eight point star and in the corners a quarter cross. The tile is molded in relief. The decoration is the result of painting the background. Besides the typical blue, a brown sepia color has been used for the contrast parts. Some minor damage at the surface. No restaurations. This is a second piece of the same type from a collection, brought together in the 1970s. The lady collector went to Teheran many times to find precious pieces which by that time could be bought legally.
