Lies Cosijn - two-part box for Therese

Lies Cosijn

Around 1982 Lies Cosijn produced a number of two-part boxes, such as the small box for Therese which is pictured in the monograph Compassion and Poetry, ceramic by Lies Cosijn. This moving little box originates from a private collection. The tiny lid has been painstakingly restored by Noor Camstra, Lochem (NL). Capriolus strives to offer only undamaged and unrestored objects. However, when dealing with the works of such a high-calibre ceramist as Lies Cosijn, we have to decide to deviate from our intentions as mentioned above. In 2008 Lies Cosijn made her decision to retire from active production of her arts,

Lies Cosijn maakte circa 1982 een aantal twee-delige doosjes, zoals het doosje voor Therese, welk is afgebeeld in de monografie Compassie en Poezie, ceramiek van Lies Cosijn. Dit ontroerende doosje is afkomstig uit een particuliere collectie. Het dekseltje is nagenoeg onzichtbaar gerestaureerd door Noor Camstra, Lochem. Capriolus streeft naar het aanbieden van onbeschadigde en niet gerestaureerde objecten. Bij topkeramisten als Lies Cosijn komen wij hier niet altijd onder uit. Lies Cosijn is in 2008 opgehouden met haar actieve kunstenaarschap.
