Roger Vandeweghe is born in Ruiselede in 1923. He visits the 'Hoger Instituut voor Kunst en Vakonderwijs Sint-Lukas' in Gent between 1940 and 1945. In 1947 he has a workperiod with Joost Maréchal. He opens a workshop in Aalter in 1948. Together with his brother he started the ceramic workshop 'Perignem'. In 1956 he started his own workshop 'Amphora' in Beersem, Brugge.
