Iet Glerum (NL) - fine handthrown vase with goldmuffle decoration

Iet Glerum was a deserving ceramist and pupil of Bert Nienhuis at the Quellinus School in Amsterdam. It is not clear whether she also attended the Teekenschool in that city. In any case, she delivered a special piece with this beautiful vase. It starts with the handthrown shape of the vase, the beautiful running glazing in blue tones. The second firing process was followed by a third firing in the muffle kiln for the gold decoration. This decoration consists of a hand-painted leaf edge along the top. In the face two standing and one lying horse with the Dutch saying: "Een gegeven paard mag je niet in de bek kijken" (Don't look a gift horse in the mouth).
