Thiébaut Chagué is born in Saint-Maur (Maine-et-Loire) in 1958. During 1976 and 1981 he is taught by Pierre Culot in Roux-Miroir (Belgium) and by Michael Cardew and Richard Batterham (United Kingdom). He started his workshop in Saint-Maur in 1981. In 1983-84 he moved to Taintrux (Vosges) and built there a wood-fired kiln.
